Guitar Workshop: Intermediate – Advanced

Course Description: Be prepared for an immersion in Guitar! In this week-long intensive you are going to learn a wide range of guitar fundamentals focusing on the styles of bluegrass and old-time rhythm. You will learn ‘fundamental arpeggios’ to develop proper voice leading & will also learn about ‘diminished scale’ to create a fun Django sound. Strings & Song Youth Clinic
Coletrain Strings & Song Youth Clinic – 12 & Under
Instructor: Bill Hussey
Course Description: This Coletrain Strings & Song Youth Clinic led by Bill Hussey will focus on string instruments including ukulele, guitar, mandolin, and fiddle, however if students are in private lessons on another string instrument these are welcomed as well. Students will learn strumming and bowing techniques, how to keep rhythm (we will provide some percussion instruments), how to perform and play well with others, and will also learn popular sing-along campfire songs. Breakout Class / Seed To Song, Songwriting Workshop

For our songwriting workshop David will separate the class into two parts. The first half will encompass lyrics, poetry, phrasing, & rhyme, in order to explore the depth of meaning that we can imbue into the song-writing process. The second half of the course focuses on chordal harmony, song structure, and melodic tips. David will discuss how to use all these tools to craft fun meaningful songs and sharpen our song-writing skills.

Finding Your Voice

Course Description: This workshop provides the basic singing skills to help build confidence and fluidity. Throughout this vocal workshop, you will focus on the fundamentals of singing well. This includes understanding the breath and breath control, vowel structure and movement, muscle tensions of the face and neck, ear training through intervals and solfegio, harmonizing, and a deepening of overall body awareness. Finding Your Voice is a liberating experience that leads ultimately to a deeper connection to one’s body and mind.
