Amy Clayton
Ukulele • Electric Guitar • Mini Music Makers Workshop Assistant
Welcome Amy Clayton, assistant instructor for this year’s Mini Music Makers workshop! Amy has been inspired by music for as long as she can remember. After years of attending concerts and festivals, she decided to deepen her connection by learning to play for herself. In 2020, she picked up a ukulele and began teaching herself the instruments she had always felt drawn to.
Her journey took a meaningful turn when her husband Caleb, after watching her light up while playing a right-handed electric guitar, surprised her with her very own left-handed guitar. From there, Amy dove in headfirst, further developing her skills through guitar lessons at Coletrain Music Academy with Brandon Katz. Amy and Caleb later formed the band Moonriver Daydreams, where she plays ukulele, electric guitar, shakers, and tambourine.
Amy’s path as a self-taught musician who found her footing through curiosity, encouragement, and community makes her a natural fit for Mini Music Makers. She knows firsthand what it feels like to pick up an instrument for the first time and fall in love with it, and she can’t wait to share that experience with the next generation of musicians.
When she’s not making music or catching live shows, Amy enjoys hiking, reading, and practicing yoga.
